Origins and Growth
The journey began in 1948 with the merger of three tyre manufacturers. Today, Barum produces over 21 million tyres each year, is a part of Continental AG, and stands as one of Europe’s leading tyre companies.
Merger With Continental
Following its merger with the German tyre manufacturer Continental in 1993, Barum experienced rapid growth as it integrated into the Continental Group. Since then, Barum has benefited from the expertise and capabilities of the German tyre company, along with access to advanced research facilities and highly efficient high-tech tyre production methods.
Production and Innovation
As one of the most productive and successful manufacturing and sales enterprises globally, Barum consistently releases new products and manufactures over 21 million car tyres annually.
Quality and Certifications
Barum's quality tyres for cars, SUVs, and vans consistently impress consumers. Their commitment to excellence has been recognised by the Lloyd's Register Group, which awarded Barum the Lloyd's Register Certificate in 1994 in accordance with ISO 9001 for the quality of its car tyre production process. This certification was expanded two years later to include the manufacturing of agricultural and truck tyres. In 1997, Barum became the first company in the Czech Republic to receive ISO 14001 and EMAS certifications for adhering to environmental regulations.
